Tatiana, Irina's mom, wrote the following about her daughter's diary.
Since I am keeping a diary in the hospital, Irina decided to keep hers as well. It’s really funny, written in a mixture of Russian and Ukrainian, with millions of grammatical errors. But we probably all wrote like that at some point.
In her dairy, you can immediately spot two things: First — the phrase «Today I had a very nice day». If the day was not good, there was no entry in Irina’s diary Second — the phrase «Today was a very good day, because daddy came to visit me»... It’s hard not to notice. When we first got sick, dad visited almost every day. That was not easy to travel through the whole city after getting off work at 7pm to see his wife and daughter in the hospital. Today was a very good day. My mommy told me that today we'll
get a visit from the salvation army. That made me very happy
and since then I have been constantly asking when they are
coming. They are coming in the evening. It's evening right now
